Friday 10th February saw the third day of qualification for places in China’s Men’s Team heading to Düsseldorf for the Liebherr 2017 World Championships. The morning gave the players an opportunity to rest with just two matches being played in the afternoon.

Fan Zhendong leads the table at the end of day three and has justified his position as the top ranked player in the field. He was able to make it through his two matches without dropping a game, defeating both Shang Kun and Zhou Qihao 2-0.

After a rocky day two, Xu Xin kept a clean sheet and positioned himself in equal second going in to the final day of play.

Liang Jiangkun, the standout performer on day two, had a mixed afternoon with one win and one loss. However he is well placed, joining Xu Xin and two others in equal second.

The big names of Yan An and Fang Bo are currently sitting in the middle of the pack and a poor performance on the final day may see them slip down the ladder.

Meanwhile at the bottom of the table, Wang Chuqin was finally able to notch up his first win, defeating Zhou Yu 2-1.

Saturday 11th February will see the last day of qualifications.
