Impressive wins in the second half of the season has made Beijing major challengers for honours in the Chinese Women's Super League; however, on Wednesday 30th November in the 13th round, their aspirations took a major blow.

They were beaten on home soil by Jilin; a three matches to one defeat was the outcome with Ding Ning, the reigning Olympic and World champion, experiencing defeat.

After accounting for Yuan Xuejiao in the second match of the fixture (11-7, 11-9, 11-7), she was beaten in the fourth match of the engagement by Wang Manyu (11-9, 11-9, 11-6), the player who won the Girls’ Singles title at the World Junior Championships in Shanghai in 2014 and last year in La Roche sur Yon.

Success for Wang Manyu who was very much the star performer; in the opening match of the engagement, she accounted for Li Jiayuan (8-11, 11-9, 11-6, 11-8); the one further win for Jilin was recorded in the doubles, Chen Ke and Yuan Xuejiao accounted for Li Jiayuan and Sheng Dandan in three games (11-9, 9-11, 9-7).

Meanwhile for Shandong Qilu, also in the hunt for honours, they maintained their challenge for honours; the beat Ordos by three matches to one.

Wen Jia overcame Feng Tianwei (11-4, 11-4, 11-5). Wu Yang accounted for Li Jiayi (11-8, 11-6, 11-5), before Li Jiayi and Zhu Zhaohui secured the doubles. Wu Yang and Feng Tianwei contested the fourth match the former victorious (11-5, 11-4, 11-5).

Likewise, there was success for Bayi against Sichuan; Mu Zi and Hu Limei  were the players in form against the Sichuan outfit comprising  Yang Yuxin, Guo Yan and Zhou Yihan.

Success for Bayi, there was also success for Anxin but there was defeat for Liu Shiwen. She was beaten by Che Xiaoxi (11-6, 5-11, 8-11, 11-6, 11-7); to the rescue came Feng Yalan, in the fifth and deciding match of the contest, she overcame Zheng Shichang (11-7, 11-4) to secure a three-two win.

Shenzhen completed the list of victors for the round after winning over Shandong Luneng.

Zhu Yuling, the main player of the Luneng Team posted one victory and one loss in the round. She won the opener against Wang Yidi in 3-1 (12-10, 11-4, 5-11, 11-5). But in the fourth match, she lost to Chen Meng in 1-3 (6-11, 11-6, 11-9, 11-9).

Wins for Anxin, Bayi, Jilin and Shandong Qilu, there was also success for Shenzhen; they beat Shanxi; Chen Meng remained unbeaten with He Zhoujia beating Gu Yuting (7-11, 15-13, 7-5) to secure the victory.
