Two wins from Zhu Yuling but it was not sufficient to save Shandong Luneng from defeat in the tenth round of the Chinese Women’s Super League; they experienced a three-two reverse at the hands of Jilin outfit comprising Chen Ke, Wang Manyu and Yuan Xuejiao.

Zhu Yuling, the player who leads the averages, with just one defeat to date, that being against Sun Mingyang in the second round fixture against Bayi, maintained her outstanding form.

She beat Chen Ke (11-6, 11-7, 11-9) and Wang Manyu (11-6, 11-5, 14-12) but that was the sum total of her team’s success.

Wang Manyu, 17 years old, beat Gu Ruochen (11-9, 11-9, 6-11, 12-10); Chen Ke and Yuan Xuejiao secured the doubles against Mu Jingyu and Wang Shu (11-13, 11-7, 11-4), before in the concluding match of the fixture, Liu Fei defeated Fan Siqi (11-9, 11-8).

Close contests were the order of the round with one result to attract the attention being the defeat of Ding Ning by Chen Meng; the Olympic and World champion conceding the match at the end of the second game (3-11, 11-3, 11-0, 11-0).

Defeat for Ding Ning but for her Beijing Team it was success against Shenzhen.

Earlier she had overcome He Zhuojia (11-8, 13-11, 11-8) after Li Jiayuan had defeated Chen Meng (11-9, 11-9, 11-7). The one further win for Beijing came in the concluding contest of the fixture when Sheng Dandan accounted for Wang Yidi (11-9, 11-4); for Shenzhen, their additional success was posted in the doubles, Sun Yingsha and Wang Yidi beat Sheng Dandan and Li Jiayuan (11-7, 12-10).

Likewise Ordos represented by Miu Hirano, Li Jiayi, Zhu Zhaohui and Zhang Qiang needed the full five matches to overcome the Bayi outfit comprising Hu Limei, Mu Zi, Liu Xin and Sun Minyang.

Mainstay of the victory was Li Jiayi; she beat both Mu Zi (12-14, 7-11, 11-9, 11-5, 11-4) and Hu Limei (8-11, 11-5, 11-5, 11-3).

A close call for Ordos, it was the same for Shandong Qilu. Fielding the trio of Wu Yang, Chen Xingtong and Wen Jia, they were extended the full distance by the Shanxi outfit comprising Wang Shu, Che Xiaoxi and Mu Jingyu.

The player to cause the problems was Che Xiaoxi; she accounted for Chen Xingtong (11-8, 11-6, 11-1) and for Wu Yang (12-10, 11-6, 8-11, 11-5).

Meanwhile, in the one remaining fixture, Liu Shiwen was the player to shine, as Anxin beat Sichuan by three matches to one.

She accounted for Yang Huijing (11-5, 11-8, 12-10) and Guo Yan (11-7, 11-8, 9-11, 12-10); Liu Gaoyang and Feng Yalan added the one further success by overcoming Yang Huijing and Guo Lin in the doubles contest (11-7, 11-7). The one win for Sichuan was secured by Guo Yan; in the second match of the fixture she beat Zhang Rui (11-6, 8-11, 11-6, 11-7).

Shandong Qilu (18 points) currently lead the table followed by four teams who share second place (17 points): Shandong Luneng, Anxin, Bayi and Beijing.
