The global multi-sport event held for military sportspeople will include table tennis for the very first time in October 2019

The 7th edition of the Military World Games will be the very first featuring table tennis, as confirmed by the CISM (Conseil International du Sport Militaire) and the organising committee of the global multi-sport event. 

Set to be held in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China between 19-26 October 2019, military table tennis players will be able to take part in the following competitions: women’s team, men’s team, mixed doubles, men’s singles and women’s singles.

The Military World Games were introduced in 1995 in Rome and have taken place every four years, the most recent edition being hosted in Mungyeong, Korean Republic, in 2015.

The other sports set to be played next year are: archery, basketball, boxing, cycling, equestrian, fencing, football, golf, judo, orienteering, parachuting, pentathlon (aeronautical, military, naval and modern), sailing, shooting, swimming, taekwondo, tennis, track & fields, triathlon and volleyball.
