Two groups in the opening stage of the Under 13 Boys’ Team event; representing Dominican Republic ‘A’, Eduardo Darley, Christopher Rodriguez and Marcos Tavares secured first place in their group finishing ahead of St Lucia’s Saneil Bernard, De Andre Calderon and Jelanie Dusauzy.

Meanwhile, in the corresponding group, in a competition where first and second positions booked semi-final places; Puerto Rico represented by Giovanni Castro, John Marrero, and José Nieves ended the opening day in top spot. Trinidad and Tobago with Jalen Kerr, Jamaali Mauge and Nicholas O’Young on duty concluded matters in runners up spot.

Likewise, in the Under 11 Boys’ Team event organised on a group basis, the Dominican Republic ‘A’ Team comprising Rafael Cabrera, Alexander Perez and Ramon Vila, ended the day as the one unbeaten outfit.

Similarly, in the Under 11 Girls’ Team competition, the host nation young players were in form. Dominican Republic ‘A’ represented by Arianna Estrella, Shary Muñoz and Carolina Soza emerged the only unscathed combination in an event also organised on all play all formula.

However, in the Under 13 Girls’ Team competition, where there were also six teams present in the group round robin format, Puerto Rico emerged the outfit to bring the initial day to a close with a perfect record. They fielded the trio comprising Daymar Castro, Alanis Reyes and Idalis Torres.

All team events conclude on Monday 27th August.
