Defeat for one leading team; in the remaining groups there were no such problems, the highest rated outfits prevailed. China, the top seeds, selecting from Chen Yi, Kuai Man and Li Yuqi topped their group without surrendering a single individual match, as did the second seeded Korea Republic team comprising Kim Jimin, Byun Seoyoung and Kim Seongjin.

Likewise, maintaining a perfect record, it was top spot for the no.4 seeds, the Japanese selection of Haruna Ojio, Hikari Okubo and Kaho Akae.

Meanwhile, in the initial stage of the Cadet Boys’ Team, similarly four groups in the initial phase; it was top spot for the leading outfits.

Selecting from Kuang Li, Zeng Beixun and Xiong Mengyang, China, the top seeds reserved first place without an individual match being surrendered.

However, runners up spot was somewhat of a surprise; the Iranian outfit formed by Seyed Mohammad Musavitaher, Radin Khayyam and Seyed Mohammadamin upset the order of merit. The no.9 seeds, they recorded a narrow three matches to two win against the team listed one place higher, Thailand’s Chettanabodi Chanpen, Puripong Saelee and Anuwat Sangduang.

Thus for the Thai trio it was the end of the road.
