The post of Competition and Events Manager is offered by Table Tennis England.

Between 2013 and 2016 the governing body underwent several important changes; now with the support of Sport England as its major funder, the association is well positioned to move into the new four year funding cycle.

Table tennis is a sport and activity that lends itself both to having a dedicated “core market” as well as a growing “mass market”, which attracts new people to the sport as well and providing a gateway to physical activity.

Having revitalised its national events programme over the past three years, Table Tennis England is now launching its international events programme. Earlier this year in February a highly successful Team World Cup was delivered in London.

The organisation is also developing support for the core of the sport, clubs, leagues and schools. It has recently merged with the well-established English Schools Table Tennis Association to bring the schools competition programme within the remit of Table Tennis England.

Now the expanded events programme requires a leader to deliver a sustainable competition programme that meets the needs of the sport.

It is key position which requires a high level of motivational skills. The successful candidate will work alongside a wide range of volunteers, technical officials and competition organisers to deliver the best possible results.

In addition, the post holder will be required to develop and deliver an international competition strategy, working with relevant bodies to ensure that Table Tennis England hosts events that meet established strategic objectives. Consistent reviews of the competition structure will be needed to ensure progress.

The Head of Competition and Events will join the Senior Leadership Team and will actively work alongside the whole staff team promote the sport of table tennis.
