Having lost to Kenzo Carmo one day earlier (4-11, 11-6, 11-6, 13-11), on the second day of play, Lautaro Sato remained unbeaten. In the final he overcame Shim Joon (5-11, 11-8, 11-8, 8-11, 11-6), before accounting for Kenzo Carmo to extract revenge (11-7, 11-8, 10-12, 11-8).

Alas for Argentina the efforts were in vain. Christian Azcoaga was beaten by Kenzo Carmo (11-8, 11-3, 11-8) and in the vital fifth and in concluding match of the fixture by Shim Joon (11-7, 6-11, 11-3, 11-2).

Valuable wins for Brazil but with the benefit of hindsight the success recorded by Luigi Yamane in the third match of the fixture was the most valuable of all. He staved off a brave recovery by Thomas Sanchi to record a five games success determined by the very narrowest of margins (11-5, 11-9, 3-11, 6-11, 13-11).

Earlier, at the semi-final stage, Brazil fielding the same three players had beaten the Ecuador outfit comprising Jeremy Cedeño, Mathias Lecaro and Neycer Robalino by three matches to nil.

A comfortable win for the Brazilians; for Argentina at the same stage life had been much more testing when facing the Chilean combination of Gonzalo Caico, Jeremias Paredes and Eusebio Vos. No changes to the line-up which appeared in the final, a three-two win was the end result.

Backbone of the victory was Lautaro Sato; he beat botj Eysebio Vos (12-10, 11-6, 11-7) and Jeremias Paredes (11-7, 7-11, 12-14, 11-3, 11-4).

Team events concluded, next on the agenda are the individual competitions; play concludes on Sunday 25th March.
