Staged in the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius, the 2017 ITTF Africa Eastern Region Championships will commence on Wednesday 13th December.

One country aiming for honours is Kenya; on Friday 1st December they named the seven players who will compete in the tournament

Prior to the tournament the team will participate in a training camp in Mauritius from Friday 8th December to Wednesday 13th December.

The Men’s Team comprises Peter Theuri, Josiah Wandera, Brian Mutua and Kunal Arora; for the women it is Sejal Thakkar, Sandra Nyagah and Ivy Makoha. Four members of the selection are new to the international scene; they are Brian Mutu, Kunal Arora, Sandra Nyagah and Ivy Makoha.

Andrew Mudibo, the President of the Kenya Table Tennis Association and President of the Eastern Region, heads the delegation. Michael Kuria who learned his skills in Germany is the Coach. Joseph Oleko fulfils the role of Team Manager and delegate at the regional meeting.
