Team Europe has found redemption in their boys’ squad this afternoon at the 2017 World Cadet Challenge after three of their four players were able to notch up wins in their second round group matches.

Spectacularly, all three wins were in five games.

Maksim Grebnev came from 1-2 down against Team North America’s Alexander Bu to win 11-7 in the fifth game.

The Russian made some spectacular shot making to find the win, at one staging even dropping his bat but still managing to win the point.

Grebnev’s win set the trend for the European boys.

Olav Kosolosky won 3-2 against North America’s Nikhil Kumar and Martin Friis took down Jacobo Vahnish 11-9 in the fifth game.

The only loss was for Csaba Andras. But he can hold his head high. The Hungarian lost 11-8 in the fifth game to North America’s Michael Minh Tran.

Three out of four ain’t bad.
