Ioannis Sgouroloulos is one of the brightest young table tennis stars that Greece has to offer and recently took the spotlight with his title winning campaign at the Stag 2017 European Youth Championships.

Two months on from that success Ioannis Sgouropoulos now has another opportunity to impress at continental level as he travels to Worcester for the 2017 Europe Youth Top 10 event which commences on Friday 8th September before closing out on Sunday 10th September.

Seeded second in the Junior Boys’ Singles category Ioannis Sgouropoulos will no doubt be aiming to pick up a gold medal from his trip to Worcester and will be looking to put in a strong display at the tournament.

However, the Greek player could face a stern challenge from a number of competitors including the top seed Cristian Pletea.

Romania’s Cristian Pletea lost out to Ioannis Sgouropoulos in the Junior Boys’ Singles final at the European Youth Championships in July, but will be determined not to suffer the same fate in Worcester.

Irvin Bertrand, who represents France, is another contender for silverware in the competition and Josh Bennett has been called-in to represent England as a late replacement for Tom Jarvis who has withdrawn from the event due to illness.

Romania’s Rares Sipos, Azerbaijan’s Yang Xinyu, Germany’s Tobias Hippler and Florian Cnudde of Belgium receive positions at the tournament.

The Cadet Boys’ Singles tournament will include a whole host of talented stars including Bilal Hamache of France who will be aiming to reach the top step of the medals podium in Worcester.

Kay Stumper, who represents Germany,is another contender for the trophy while Hungary’s Csaba Andras and Belgium’s Olav Kosolosky could also be in the hunt for silverware.
