A global Nielsen Sports research study in 2018 found that 27% of the world’s population was interested in table tennis. During the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, 552 million people watched table tennis; the majority in China, Europe and North America. At the Liebherr 2017 World Championships in Düsseldorf, 355.6 million people tuned in to the action on TV or OTT around the world.
The next phase of global table tennis development includes pushing the boundaries on entertainment within our events, showcasing our best players at our best events, engaging with more fans in innovative ways, and continuing to make the world a better place and change lives through Dream Building, our Corporate Social Responsibility programme.
