Welcome to the ITTF Hopes Programme
The ITTF Hopes Programme is the ITTF Sports Development department’s talent identification programme, which unites players and coaches from across the globe. It continues to be the building block of the ITTF High Performance pathway, which targets global reach and overall growth of table tennis.
The Hopes Programme returns to a one-year cycle in 2025, with national, continental, and world stages for U12 players (born in or after 2013). National Hopes Weeks will be a prerequisite for qualification to the continental stage, which will in turn serve as a qualifier to the global stage: the 2025 ITTF World Hopes Week & Challenge in Sheffield, England.
Member Associations are encouraged to hold their national talent identification activities early in the year and to inform ITTF of their intention to take part in the Hopes Programme. An activation form will be available, and ITTF Participation Officers will be able to guide on implementation of a national talent identification activity.
The 2025 Hopes Journey
- National Hopes Weeks: Initial talent identification and development
- Continental Hopes Weeks: Regional selection for top performers
- World Hopes Week & Challenge: The pinnacle experience in Sheffield (13-19 October 2025)
With over 15 years of developing table tennis champions and approximately 1,600 young players having participated worldwide since 2009, the Hopes Programme continues to create pathways from grassroots discovery to international success. The 2025 programme features a refreshed visual identity that reflects its evolution while maintaining its core mission of nurturing the future stars of table tennis.
