The 2025 ITTF World Hopes Week & Challenge will take place from 13-19 October 2025 in Sheffield (ENG). The global talent identification activity will bring together players and coaches from all continents, with our experts at the continental activities identifying 3 players per gender in Asia, the Americas and Europe, 2 per gender in Africa, and 1 per gender in Oceania. Up to 7 Wild Cards per gender will complete the group that will meet for an intense week of training and competition in England.
Some of the Wild Card spots may be awarded based on scouting at the Continental Hopes Weeks and attended ITTF High Performance activities according to expert recommendations, and additional spots selected from this call for applications. For those responding to the call, the selection will be based on the following criteria:
- Activation of National Hopes program by the Member Association
- Participation of the player in Hopes pathway activities
- Head Coach/Expert evaluation of player from Hopes pathway activities
- Uploaded 1-minute video of player in training
Registered Member Associations* have been informed and are invited to complete the application by 29 August 2025.
*For MAs in the Americas, where the Continental Hopes Week is set to take place later this month and early September, we encourage you to apply for Wild Cards for the players you most want to attend the World Hopes Week even though they may qualify through the Americas Hopes selection process.
