Petra Sörling (SWE) was re-elected President of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) at the Annual General Meeting in Doha on Tuesday, 27 May 2025. Sörling received 104 votes, while the other candidate, Khalil Al-Mohannadi (QAT), received 102.
Petra Sörling statement on her re-election as ITTF President: “I am deeply grateful to the global table tennis family for the trust placed in me with this re-election.
“It is an honour to have been elected as ITTF President for another four years, continuing the journey we began together in 2021.
“Now, it’s time to look ahead — united and focused on the future.
“I remain fully committed to delivering on our shared vision and working with all members of the ITTF family to elevate table tennis to new heights.”
The AGM had to be suspended after it was disrupted by outsiders.
As a result of this suspension, the AGM will need to be reconvened specifically to conduct the election of the Vice Presidents. ITTF President Petra Sörling will announce the new date in due course. This resumption must take place no later than November 2025 to comply with the four-year term of office for the Executive Board, as stipulated in the ITTF Constitution (Article 1.87.1).
