The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and Swiss Table Tennis (STT) have successfully settled a longstanding legal dispute surrounding Mr. Khalil Al-Mohannadi, now ITTF Senior Executive Vice President.

The resolution, reached on December 6, 2023, through mutual agreement, reflects the commitment of all parties involved to putting an end to the controversy that arose from legally unfounded accusations made in 2021 by a then STT board member.

All parties expressed satisfaction with the bilateral resolution.

Comment from Freddy Oswald, STT Vice-President:

“At the beginning of and in the course of 2021, a former STT ZVA member made accusations publicly and in the name of the STT against Mr Khalil Al-Mohannadi, now ITTF Senior Executive Vice President, on behalf of third parties outside the STT. These subsequently proved to be legally unfounded. Mr Al-Mohannadi and the ITTF suffered damage to its image and incurred cost-intensive expenses, whereupon it filed a counterclaim.
After lengthy negotiations at various instances, the STT has now succeeded in settling this dispute bilaterally and by mutual agreement between all parties involved and on balance of all claims. The mutual, confidential agreement was signed on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 in the presence of all parties involved. The new STT Board of Directors, which took over this matter in March 2023, is pleased that this matter has now been put to bed with the agreement of all parties and has offered its public apology to Mr Al-Mohannadi and to the ITTF.”

Comment from Khalil Al-Mohannadi, ITTF Senior Executive Vice-President:

“I am pleased with the resolution of the longstanding legal dispute with Swiss Table Tennis. The mutual agreement, reached on December 6, 2023, marks the conclusion of a challenging period. I appreciate the commitment of all parties involved and the support of the International Table Tennis Federation. I would like to emphasize the importance of moving forward collaboratively so we can focus on what truly matters – promoting the growth and development of our sport globally.”
