In a testament to the power of collaboration, the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), World Table Tennis (WTT), and the German Table Tennis Association (DTTB) are poised to mark the beginning of a new era. As the eagerly anticipated WTT Champions Frankfurt 2023 event prepares to kick off on 29 October 2023, it stands not only as a showcase of unparalleled table tennis excellence but also as a celebration of the unity that defines the sport. 

The journey, which began amid challenges when World Table Tennis launched in 2020, during COVID-19 pandemic, has evolved into an extraordinary display of unity. Spearheaded by ITTF President Petra Sörling, ITTF Group CEO Steve Dainton, and DTTB President Claudia Herweg, this collaborative effort has not only overcome hurdles but has also set a remarkable precedent for the future. 

Acknowledging the essential role of presentation and marketing in the growth of table tennis, DTTB has steadfastly supported the joint efforts of ITTF and WTT to elevate the sport to new heights. WTT Champions Frankfurt 2023 stands as the pinnacle of this reinvigorated collaboration, a testament to the dedication of all parties involved. 

Expressing her satisfaction, ITTF President Petra Sörling affirms, “The unity we now witness among ITTF, WTT, and DTTB is a powerful message to the global table tennis community. It is with this unity that we are able to achieve landmark projects such as the WTT Champions Frankfurt 2023, ultimately inspiring a new generation of young players and growing our sport.” 

Echoing this sentiment, DTTB President Claudia Herweg remarks, “We worked hand in hand over the past year, and I am very excited to finally offer our fans world-class table tennis action with all the stars from home and abroad.” 

Reflecting on the transformative journey since 2020, ITTF Group CEO Steve Dainton states, “To now host a WTT Champions event in Germany is a wonderful achievement. We had great discussions with sponsors, TV, and other partners involved. This event truly marks the beginning of a new era for WTT in Germany and Europe and we look forward to more and more important WTT events in Germany and Europe in the future.” 

The anticipation is palpable in the global table tennis community as WTT Champions Frankfurt 2023 unfolds over eight action-packed days from October 29 to November 5 at the Suwag Energie Arena. Featuring the Top 30 men and women table tennis stars, complemented by two wildcards, the event promises 1000 ITTF Table Tennis World Ranking points and a share of the USD 500,000 prize pool in a main draw knockout format. The Infinity ∞ Arena promises to be the focal point of this electrifying world-class event, showcasing the elite of the table tennis world.
