Table tennis fans around the world are gearing up for the highly anticipated Singapore Smash 2023, set to begin with the qualifying singles matches kicking off on 7 March 2023.

Held at the OCBC Arena in the Singapore Sports Hub from 7 to 19 March, the Singapore Smash 2023 is a key event in the World Table Tennis (WTT) calendar of events and will feature 64-player men’s and women’s singles and 24-pair doubles and mixed competitions. The top 10 players in each singles category will be in action, along with defending champions from last year’s event.

The 2022 event marked the start of a grand new legacy for table tennis. The WTT Grand Smashes form the foundation of the WTT Series, and the Singapore Smash is the first of the four new pillars of professional table tennis. Singapore Smash is a result of a collaborative effort from International Table Tennis Federation, World Table Tennis, Sport Singapore and the Singapore Table Tennis Association, and this year’s event promises to be even bigger and better than the inaugural edition in 2022.

With a total of US$2 million in prize money and an impressive line-up of players from across the globe, fans can look forward to two weeks of world class table tennis action. In addition to the international players, the Singapore Smash 2023 will feature a strong contingent of local talent offering them the opportunity to come up against the best in the world while looking to impress on home soil.

World Table Tennis, the commercial entity created by the ITTF, hopes for the Singapore Smash to establish its position as one of the key highlights of Singapore’s sporting calendar. This event is also a testament to ITTF’s commitment to developing and promoting table tennis and is an important opportunity to expose the sport to a newer audience and foster its growth and popularity in the country.

With a brand-new event experience that will include an impressive entertainment line-up of live music performances, virtual reality games, the newly launched Singapore Smash Park, and the free-entry Singapore Smash Zone, Singapore Smash 2023 looks set to be a memorable table tennis spectacle for everyone.
