ITTF Americas, the Pan American Table Tennis Confederation, is holding its first face-to-face Annual General Meeting since its creation in Santiago de Chile on 3 November on the occasion of the 2022 ITTF Pan American Championships.

“We are ready to receive all the representatives of our member countries in the first Annual General Meeting in person. This event will go down in history, and we hope everyone can join us on this special date.” Juan Vila, President of ITTF Americas.

A delegation from the ITTF, headed by President Petra Sörling, has travelled to Chile to attend the meeting. She is joined by ITTF Executive Vice-President Alaor Azevedo, ITTF Secretary-General Raul Calin, ITTF Deputy Secretary-General Mounir Bessah, and ITTF High Performance and Development Director Polona Cehovin.

“I am very honoured to attend the first-ever in-person Annual General Meeting of ITTF Americas,” said President Sörling. “There is a lot of potential for table tennis in the region, underlined last year by the success of the World Championships Finals in Houston, the first hosted in the Americas, and now by the 2022 ITTF Pan American Championships. I look forward to meeting and engaging with our members to hear how they are building the legacy of these events.”

The agenda in the Chilean capital also includes two forums to be held on 4 November, focusing on Governance and World Table Tennis.

“Both forums are a great opportunity for all the representatives of the member associations of America to be able to share and debate together, generating ideas to continue shaping the future of table tennis in the continent,” said Jorge Herrera, ITTF Americas member relations.

World Table Tennis has managed to re-imagine and re-energise the sport to match audiences’ needs, creating more touchpoints with fans eager to see the world’s best players facing each other more often.

It operates WTT Series, the official professional table tennis series of events, complemented by the WTT Feeder Series, a lower tier of events designed for elevating grassroots talent to global stars, and the WTT Youth Series, where the future stars begin their professional journey. The forum will ensure all members are well informed and continue to actively participate in this exciting new chapter for table tennis.
