Today’s presidential elections at the European Table Tennis Union (ETTU) brought confirmation of Igor Levitin taking charge of Europe’s governing body of the sport for a four-year term.

Levitin, who is also a Member of the ITTF President’s Advisory Council and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Table Tennis Federation of Russia, announced his intention to run for the ETTU presidency in May this year.

The 68-year-old has expressed his desire to implement new, innovative measures to ensure a positive evolution of the sport in Europe, traditionally one of the strongest table tennis markets globally.

Levitin takes over the ETTU presidency from Ronald Kramer, who has been at the helm since 2013.

Today’s elections saw the following positions confirmed within the ETTU Executive Board:

President – Igor LEVITIN (Russia)

Deputy President – Pedro MOURA (Portugal)

Vice President Finance – Sandra DEATON (England)

Vice Presidents – Vladimir SAMSONOV (Belarus), Sonja GREFBERG (Finland), Miguel VICENS (France), Heike AHLERT (Germany), Ina JOZEPSONE (Latvia)
