Coach education within the framework of the Coach Accreditation Scheme (CAS) has been one of the pillars of the Development Programme on all levels for 15 years.

Read on about the next level of learning.

Following the establishment of the Education Unit within the High Performance and Development department the area of education as such will be even more in focus in the future; a complete revamp of CAS is planned to be launched in two years’ time.

Meanwhile a revised and complemented wide range of educational tools and opportunities for all the different profiles in our sport, i.e. coaches, officials, administrators, players etc., will be introduced progressively.

The plans are ambitious and all the products will be designed, implemented and organised in co-operation with leading players in our sport and from the sport education industry as such, whether individuals, organisations or companies.

The High Level Coaching Course, organised by the Swedish Table Tennis Association in partnership with Halmstad University and the ITTF, fits within the wider framework of global coach education. As a partner, the ITTF has the privilege to invite 12 international coaches to attend the course, to be held from Friday 6th to Wednesday 11th December 2019 in Halmstad; these 12 international coaches will study alongside 12 Swedish coaches under course lecturers of the highest level, including ITTF High Performance Elite Coach, Massimo Costantini.

The course will consist of both theoretical and practical sessions that will have a common thread, deepening the coaches’ skills and knowledge. The course is intended for high level coaches currently working with players on a regular basis, who are willing to interact and share their knowledge with their fellow participants.

We invite professional coaches from around the globe, who daily work with already established talented players are aiming for excellence, professionalism and overall success on a global level, to apply via the following link: https://www.ittfeducation.com/high-level-coaching-course-halmstad-sweden-6-11-december-2019/.

Six coaches will be selected based on a universality principle (one per continent) but bearing in mind high performance potential of the candidates as specified on page six of the prospectus. The remaining six coaches will be selected from the pool of experts that follow players active in the ITTF High Performance Programme. The scholarship will cover the course fees of US$2,500 and include hospitality (accommodation in double rooms and meals) for the entire duration of the course.

A joint effort by Halmstad University and the Swedish Table Tennis Association, partnered with the ITTF, presents an exciting opportunity for coaches to participate and collaborate in a true High Performance focused environment.

Join us in Halmstad this December!
