The 16th ITTF Sports Science Congress, organised by the International Table Tennis Federation and the Hungarian Table Tennis Association, in liaison with the University of Pecs will be held on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th April prior to the Liebherr 2019 World Championships.

Registration process is over and the Organising Committee is looking forward to a very interesting Congress.

A wide variety of oral and poster presentations comprise the agenda, 213 authors’ 112 abstracts have been accepted from 29 countries and four continents from all over the world. Notably China, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Germany, Italy, Hungary and the United States have all contributed.

During the two days of the Congress three invited speakers will deliver keynote speeches – Mr. Sheng K. Wu (Chinese Taipei), Mr. Damir Sekulic (Croatia) and Mr. Miklos Stocker (Hungary) – no less than 48 further authors will present lectures and 61 scientific posters will be presented. Overall, 135 participants are registered for the Congress to be present personally in the Danubius Hotel Flamenco.

The participants will receive an insight into such topics as the relationship of coaching leadership and players’ emotions, the analysis of typical service strategies and footwork techniques by elite players, the usage of artificial intelligence in table tennis, agility as a basic component in table tennis and the management aspects of table tennis.

Notably, the congress will be opened by Mrs. Tünde Szabo (State Secretary for Sport in Hungary), Mr. Thomas Weikert  (President of International Table Tennis Federation), Mr. Roland Natran (President of Hungarian Table Tennis Association) and Mr. Pongrac Acs (Vice-Dean of University of Pcs, Faculty of Health Sciences).
