Leading the headlines for January was the Seamaster 2019 Hungarian Open as the new ITTF World Tour season kicked off in the capital city of Budapest.

An event featuring plenty of drama from start to finish, China emerged with both singles titles: Chen Meng took home an impressive 13th Women’s Singles trophy while Lin Gaoyuan took the plaudits in the Men’s Singles tournament which leads us nicely into our Pongcast question of the month:

How many different players have won the Men’s Singles title at the Hungarian Open?

Comment your answer on the Pongcast via the ITTF Facebook page and share the video for a chance to win a piece of gear from Nittaku. The winner will be picked at random.

Elsewhere, there was excellent news on the Para scene with table tennis being officially confirmed for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games and there’s an exciting update from our friends over at T2.
