An excellent year, crowned in style: Kelly Van Zon finished ahead of fellow nominees Seo Su Yeon and Xue Juan in the running to become the first ever player from the Netherlands to be honoured at the “Oscars of Table Tennis.”
Completing 35 months as World no. 1, Van Zon secured title victories at the 2018 Slovenia Para Open, 2018 Spanish Para Open and 2018 Lignano Para Master Open as well as her Women’s Singles Class 7 gold medal success at the 2018 ITTF Para World Championships.
Previous winners of the Female Para Table Tennis Star are Sweden’s Anna-Carin Ahlquist, Croatia’s Sandra Paovic, Turkey’s Borislava Peric and Liu Jing of China.
