Organized under the auspices of ITTF High Performance and Development, Khartoum, the capital city of Sudan, the source of the White Nile, was the home for an ITTF/PTT Level One Course from Saturday 17th to Wednesday 21st November.

Led by Ashraf Abdel Fatah, the venue for proceedings was the El Sahafa Club Hall.

Overall, 24 students five being female, representing ten states in the country, attended; several were coaches but notably four men and three women were members of the national team. Male members of the national team in attendance being Moatassem Awad, Nader Abdel Mounem, Ibrahim Ishaq and Mohamed Hassan; the female representatives, Habiba Ahmed, Malak Hashim and Wafaa Awad.

“The level of table tennis in Sudan is moderate, equipment is only available within the national team but there are many halls for table tennis in the country; the aim of the course being to develop table tennis in Sudan.” Ashraf Abdel Fatah

A successful programme was completed, the Sudan Table Tennis Federation provided all necessary requirements; immediately following a training camp was staged which many young players attended, all determined to improve their skills. In addition, it gave the coaches who been present on the ITTF/PTT Level One Course, a chance to put theory into practice.

Each day two training sessions were held; the first from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm and the second from 5.00 pm to 8.00 pm.

Matters concluded with a closing ceremony, dignitaries present being Abdelrahman Elsallawi, President of the Sudanese Table Tennis Federation and Ahmed Abdelallah, the General Secretary of the Sudanese Table Tennis Federation and President of El Sahafa Club.
