Top seeds, the combination formed by the Czech Republic’s Martina Novakova and Russia’s Ekaterina Zironova alongside Elisavet Terpou of Greece duly made their presence felt on the opening day of play, Wednesday 24th October, at the 2018 Egypt Junior and Cadet Open in Sharm El Sheikh.

They duly remained unbeaten to secure first place in their group but, if there was one team that made an indelible impression, it was the China’s Gong Yuhui, Wang Yidan and Zhou Bingru, three players making their first ventures into international waters.
