First staged in Cordoba, Spain in 2012 and held on a biennial basis ever since that date, the forthcoming 2018 European Universities Games will be staged in Coimbra, Portugal, the overall schedule commencing on Sunday 15th July and concluding on Saturday 28th July.

Ever since the very first edition, table tennis has been included in the itinerary; now in 2018, Para Table Tennis, as in 2016 in Zagreb, appears on the schedule and is integrated into the main programme.

The arrival date for players competing in the table tennis competition is Thursday 12th July, for the Para players it is Saturday 14th July; the departure date for both disciplines is Thursday 19th July.

Moreover, most significantly table tennis is the only Para sport to be staged in the entire Games!

If ever the claim that table tennis is the sport for all needed endorsing, it is endorsed by the 2018 the European Universities Games.

In addition to table tennis the sports contested in Coimbra are: badminton, basketball, 3×3 basketball, canoe sprint, football, futsal, handball, judo, rowing, rugby 7s, tennis and volleyball.

All sports will hold events for both men and women.

The European University Sports Association (EUSA) is supported by the International University Sports Federation (FISU).
