Moreover, as a result of his time in Halmstad, Omar Assar can expect local support and hopes that fact may lift Egypt to new heights.

“I am so happy that I will play again in Halmstad where I lived and played for the local club for three years. I am dreaming of a high position this time in Halmstad. We have a good team and I am confident we can give a good performance. Lately our young players have competed well internationally; both Khaled Assar and Mohamed El-Beiali are playing well this year. I also believe if we work together and prepare thoroughly for the matches we are going to cause a surprise in Halmstad.” Omar Assar

Now based in Germany, where he has been playing for SV Werder Bremen, Omar Assar is certainly relishing the thought of a return to Halmstad.

“I have many friends and fans in Sweden so I am looking forward to having great support in a Halmstad for me and for the Egyptian team. I believe the best way is to think step-by-step; every match has its own strategy. We need to keep fit and focused then the results will come. “ Omar Assar
