The top seeded team was never really troubled in the all-important title match with all three fixtures being decided in straight games.

Ahmed Elborhamy gave Egypt the early lead with his victory over Andre Bly in the opening tie of the match (11-5, 11-6, 11-8) before the team’s advantage was doubled courtesy of Youssef Abdel-Aziz, who accounted for Cherif Gbane (11-4, 11-3, 11-4). Stepping up to face the host nation’s Andre Bly for the second time, Ahmed Elborhamy once again delivered a strong result (11-5, 13-11, 12-10) to complete the win for Egypt.

Cote d’Ivoire ‘B’ was restricted to a second position finish while third place was awarded to Cote d’Ivoire ‘A’; a brace for Nomel Sie and another win through Franck Kouadio proved enough to see off Cote d’Ivoire ‘C’ in the other round three encounter.

While the gold medal may have eluded the host nation in the Junior Boys’ Team event it was a very different story in the Cadet Boys’ Team category.

Ousmane Coulibaly and Emmanuel Beugre combined to great effect for Cote d’Ivoire ‘A’, beating Ivan Landry Kouassi and Arthur Tieba of Cote d’Ivoire ‘B’ by a 3-0 score-line to seal the title.
