Courses for candidates who will be sitting the International Umpires Examination this year are offered by the ITTF Umpires and Referees Committee in collaboration with ITTF Development and Education.

Such courses may be held in their own right or may be combined with other development courses.

by Ian Marshall, ITTF Publications Editor

Overall the course lasts two days with the International Umpires Examination being held at the close of proceedings.

Each continent may stage a maximum of two such funded courses.

Furthermore, the courses are also available as self-funded activities by associations. In such instances it is recommended that the dates are organised to coincide with a major international event when, present in the role of Referee or similar, qualified trainers, approved by the ITTF Umpires and Referees Committee, are available.

Any extra days’ hospitality and training fee will be met by the ITTF Umpires and Referees Committee; the deadline for such an initiative is extended to the end of July 2018.

Kindly contact Continental Development Officers for further details; alternative should you have queries please contact Norman Tang, Deputy Chair Umpires, ITTF Umpires and Referees Committee.
