Gold medallists two days earlier in the Men’s Singles events, Slovenia’s Luka Trtnik in Class 6-7, Montenegro’s Filip Radovic in Class 9-10; on Saturday 14th October, both added to their title collection at the 2017 European Youth Para Championships in Genoa, Italy.

In the Men’s Team events, Luka Trtnik partnered Serbia’s Luka Andrasic to success in Class 6-7; Filip Radovic joined forces with Austria’s Noah Rainer to secure the top prize in Class 9-10.

In a group organised event, the combination of Italy’s Matteo Parenzan and Slovakia’s Tomas Valach finished in second place behind Luka Trtnik and Serbia’s Luka Andrasic with Sweden’s Sam Gustafsson and Noah Olsson in third position.

Meanwhile, Filip Radovic almost completed the hat-trick. In a specially organised Men’s Doubles Class 6-10 event, partnering Denmark’s Rasmus Jensen, he finished in runners up spot. At the final hurdle the duo experienced defeat at the hands of Italy’s Lorenzo Cordua and Lorenzo Magarelli (11-9, 11-7, 11-5).

Later in the Men’s Team event, Filip Radovic and Noah Rainer overcame Lorenzo Cordua and Lorenzo Magrelli at the final hurdle by two matches to nil, having recorded the same margin of victory in the penultimate round when opposing Sweden’s Jonas Hansson and Axel Jensen Wallin. Likewise for Lorenzo Cordua and Lorenzo Magrelli it had been a two-nil semi-final success, they had overcome Denmark’s Rasmus Hansen and Rasmus Jensen to reserve their place in the title decider.

Success for Montenegro in harness with Austria; in Men’s Team Class 3-5, it was success for the combination of Slovakia’s Boris Travnicek and Norway’s Sebastian Vegsund. In a group administered event, they finished ahead of Sweden’s Philip Brooks and David Olsson with the combination of Italy’s Matteo Orsi and Nina Basa in third place.

Medals in three events for Filip Radovic; it was the same for Romania’s Ioana-Monica Tepelea. Runner up in Women’s Singles Class 10, she partnered Croatian colleague Tabita Vulturar to gold ion both Women’s Doubles Class 6-10 and Women’s Team Class 6-10).

At the final hurdle of the former, the duo overcame Sweden’s Caisa Stadler and Anja Handen (11-13, 12-10, 11-9, 11-5), prior to repeating the success in the latter with a two matches to nil win; the Swedes finished in third place with runners up spot being the lot of the combination formed by Norway’s Nora Korneliussen and Denmark’s Mie Schou Salhauge.
