Top position in the group in the Junior Girls’ Team event on Wednesday 16th August at the 2017 El Salvador Junior and Cadet Open was the end result for the host nation combination of Keren Constanta and Cecilia Orantes; it was an outcome both against expectations and one which very nearly could have concluded with the totally reverse scenario.

In their open contest they faced colleagues, Gabriela Romero and Dinora Salazar. Keren Constanza gave her team the ideal start by beating Dinora Salazar (11-9, 11-4, 11-4), before Cecilia Orantes accounted for Gabriela Romero (13-11, 11-6, 11-7) to double the advantage.

It was at that stage their compatriots responded; Gabriela Romero and Dinora Salazar won the doubles (11-3, 11-7, 12-10), prior to Gabriela Romero accounting for Keren Constanza to level matters (11-6, 8-11, 13-11, 11-9).
