Signing up for the iProspect Challengers, Petrissa Solja will team up with fellow compatriot Han Ying with Qatar’s Li Ping and Andrej Gacina of Croatia being the other non-Indian players to make the squad.

Petrissa Solja, 23, is hoping to enjoy a successful outing in India and is looking forward to the experience.

“I have already had contact with my club, and also with my managers and my teammates. I am excited to come to India. It will be my second visit. I had a good experience last time. It will be something special, something new. I hope I can show my best and win with the Challengers. I am also looking forward to helping my teammates improve, and maybe give them tips”, Petrissa Solja.

Each team in the Ultimate Table Tennis League also consists of four Indian contestants and the iProspect Challengers features a strong lineup of the host country’s stars as Soumyajit Ghosh, Manav Thakkar, Mouma Das and Moumita Dutta join the cast.

With the inaugural season set to get underway on Thursday 13th July, Petrissa Solja is excited about the format of the league and believes that table tennis fans are set for a treat.

“I would like to play against Indian players because I have played against some of them many times in youth tournaments. They have a special style of playing. It is something special; men and women are playing for the same club. I have never experienced something like this before in my career, and I think it will be more interesting for the fans”, Petrissa Solja.
