The Polish Table Tennis Association announces a coaching position at the Training Centre in Gdansk named after the late Andrzej Grubba, who sadly died on Thursday 21st July 2005.

Forever more, the name of Andrej Grubba will be revered in sporting circles, the opportunity afforded is to develop players of an age who are too young to have seen the Polish legend extol his skills.

However, although they may not have seen him play at first hand, they have a role model and if the coach appointed can unearth a player who was right handed but could unleash a fearsome forehand topspin using his left hand, they have an athlete who may follow in the footsteps of Andrzej Grubba.

A challenging position, the focus is very much on youth; based at the Andrzej Grubba Training Center in Gdansk, the main task is to implement a programme in the period 2017 to 2020.

Recruiting players for the 2017-2018 season will be the initial task; additionally, liaising with educational institutions will be necessary as well as attending necessary seminars to develop personal skills.

Three years’ coaching experience is needed; the closing date for applications being Tuesday 20th June.

Applications with a detailed curriculum vitae and any supporting documents should be sent to the Polish Table Tennis Association, ul. Mokotowska 24, 00-561 Warsaw, Poland.

Prior to announcing the appointment, an interview may be required.

The appointment will be published on the website of the Polish Table Tennis Association.
