Sold out; that is the sign already showing for the concluding three days of the forthcoming Liebherr 2017 World Championships, for Saturday 3rd to Monday 5th June it is already a full house.

Impressively, on each of the day when champions are decided, some 8,000 spectators will fill the seats of the Messeplatz in the German city of Düsseldorf.

However, from Monday 29th May until Friday 2nd June there are still seats available; high class play will be on offer and the world’s best will be on duty for much of this period.

Time and again the rounds leading to the semi-finals produce some of the most dramatic and intense action; win a round of last 16 match and medal hopes are still alive, win a quarter-final contest and a medal is assured.

Furthermore, a World Championships is an opportunity to promote the sport of table tennis; an athletic sight beholds the eyes; it can be a catalyst for young people.

Thus the organisers for the Liebherr 2017 World Championships are making a special concession; the “Under 18 Offer”.

It is free admission for all young people under the age of 18 years for the first four days of the tournament; Monday 29th May to Thursday 1st June.

All under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult, who must purchase a ticket; however, a group of children may be accompanied by one adult.

It is an opportunity for a coach to bring young players to watch high level play.
