There will be no change of head coach for Sweden's Para National Team after it was confirmed that Daniel Ellermann will continue in the role for another four-year term.

Daniel Ellermann was assigned the position of head coach of the Swedish Para National Team eight years ago and following a successful stint in the role, the 37-year-old has been rewarded with another four year deal.

From Sunday 1st January 2017 onwards the Para Table Tennis set up in Sweden will be working hand-in-hand with the Swedish Table Tennis Association in an attempt to build better relations between the two organisations and Daniel Ellermann is looking forward to the merger.

“It feels particularly inspiring and exciting to continue the work with the Para National Team as we go over to the Swedish Table Tennis Association at the end of the year. We obviously hope that we will fight for the medals in Tokyo (2020 Paralympic Games) just as we did both in London 2012 and Rio 2016. We realise obviously there is not quite the connection to Para sport but will continue to work closely with the Swedish Paralympic Committee in order to achieve our ambitious targets”, Daniel Ellermann

Technical Director of the Swedish Table Tennis Association, Mikael Peterson, stated that he was also excited about the changes coming at the beginning of January for Swedish table tennis. He is happy to see coach Daniel Ellermann remain at the helm of the country’s Para National Team.

“It feels great that we can now get on board the strong knowledge and experience Daniel Ellermann possess, as we integrate Para Table Tennis with the rest of Table Tennis. Ellermann has extensive experience as coach and has had many great successes with a strong national team” – Mikael Peterson.
