No surprises were recorded in the second round of the 2016 Men's Chinese Super League. Big names from the Chinese National Team imposed authority against their opponents and posted positive results. Ma Long, this time, was undefeated but the score-line suggests it was not easy.

Ma Long struggled to provide for the team

In the previous round, Ma Long was one of the casualties after he was defeated by Liu Jikang in the opening match; this time around, Ma Long came more prepared for challenge.

He provided the opening victory for Shandong Weiqiao, defeating Zheng Peifeng of Jiangsu (13-11, 11-8, 10-12, 11-7). The result would suggest that Ma Long posted a not-so-easy win.

Jiangsu didn’t lose hope as Chuang Chih Yuan fought hard against Yan An. However, the younger player from Weiqiao didn’t back off. Yan An completed his match in 3-2 victory.

For the third match, Lin Gaoyuan and Yan An scored 2-1, completing a sweep win for Weiqiao.

Bayi imposed authority over hosts

The Bayi Team played as guests for the second time this season. But, it never affected their overall strength. Today, in the second round, Fan Zhendong and company posted another victory.

Zhou Yu started off with a 3-1 win against Liang Jingkun. Fan Zhendong followed and swept Fan Shenpeng for Bayi’s second point. Their tandem, Zhou Yu and Xu Chenhao, completed the victory with a 2-1 score in the Doubles.

Shandong Luneng upset hosts with a sweep win

The Shandong Luneng Team is off with a great start for this season’s competition despite the absence of the Grand Slam champion Zhang Jike. Today, the team earned their second sweep victory.

Fang Bo immediately crushed any high hopes from the Sichuan Team. He defeated Xu Ruifeng in a powerful manner of 3-0. Hao Shuai played in the second match and scored 3-1. Finishing the proceedings was a 2-0 win from Hao Shuai and Zhang Chao.

Xu Xin unbeaten leading Shanghai to second victory

Shanghai had a dangerous start in the round against the guests, Anhui. Shang Kun lost to Yu Ziyang in 0-3. Fortunately, Xu Xin was prepared for challenge and scored a point for Shanghai in the second match against Zhou Qihao.

Shang Kun returned for the Doubles with Zheng Rongzhi and recorded a sweeping victory. Xu Xin completed Shanghai’s victory with a 3-1 score against Yu Ziyang.

Tianjin tested in their own court

Tianjin welcomed Shenzhen for the second round of proceedings in the 2016 Chinese Super League. It turned out that they were in for a challenge.

The host team recorded a loss in the opening match after Liu Dingshuo was defeated by Liu Jikang. Ma Te levelled the scores in 1-1 after he defeated the foreign aide Joo Saehyuk in 3-1. Their tandem Yu Xinhang and Fang Yinchi brought Tianjin into a lead with their victory in the Doubles.

However, the match didn’t progress easily for Tianjin. Liu Dingshuo was defeated by Joo Saehyuk in 0-3. In the decider, support from the home crowd mattered. Fang Yinchi swept Ren Hao in 2-0.

Tianjin withstood the challenge and recorded their first victory this season.
