Different personalities from various industries like entertainment, sports and fashion, gathered in the evening of September 8th in the Chinese metropolitan city, Shanghai. This evening was for recognition and a whole night of fun.

Two of those personalities were our very own Grand Slam champions Ma Long and Zhang Jike. Both fighters shed off their usual sporting clothes that night, looking debonair on the red carpet with their formal wear.

Well, these two fellows did not just look good. They, too, were recognised that evening. Ma Long recently secured the Olympic Singles title in Rio. Meanwhile, Zhang Jike successfully fulfilled his mission in the Olympic Games.

Ma Long was awarded the “Best Sports Role Model,” while Zhang Jike got the “Annual Sports Idol” award.

Ma Long was thankful for the award and expressed his gratitude in his Facebook account. He hopes to promote sports to a wider range of people.

Zhang Jike also expressed his gratitude in the Chinese social media, Weibo. He thanked GQ for awarding him the award saying:

“Thank you GQ for awarding me this honour as the ‘Annual Sports Idol.'”

He also posted a photo of him and a Chinese model friend named Xi Mengyao, known as Ming Xi.
