In the lead up to this year’s Olympic Games, the Department of Sports Organization and Management of the Faculty of Human Movement and Quality of Life Sciences of the University of Peloponnese has invited applications for their Master’s Degree Programme "Olympic Studies, Olympic Education, Organization and Management of Olympic Events", organized with the support of the International Olympic Academy.

The degree course will, conditions permitting, take place in Ancient Olympia and Sparta (GRE). Its programme will be based on the three pillars of the Olympic Movement, Education, Sports and Culture, and will lead to a Master of Science degree (MSc). The philosophy of the programme is consistent with the philosophy of the Olympic movement for the diffusion of the Olympic ideal worldwide, the promotion of knowledge and research in Olympic issues and equal global participation.

Besides research into and the promotion of knowledge of issues pertaining to Olympic philosophy, pedagogy and education, Olympic sport studies and Olympic and mega event management, the programme aims at creating a specialized workforce equipped with specialist knowledge at a postgraduate level on issues related to Olympic studies, able to organize and direct Olympic and athletic institutions, promote the growth of programmes of Olympic education on an international level and contribute to the creation of a scientific background for the growth and organization of. Sports.
