The Qatari table tennis player is in intensive care following a car accident. Everyone at the ITTF sends him their wishes for a quick recovery.

The ITTF is saddened by the news that Qatari table tennis player, Abd Al-Rahman Al-Najjar, is in intensive care following a car accident on Friday.

The Qatar U21 player, who represents Al Sadd Club, was injured when returning to his home in Doha and is now being treated for a severe brain bleed by emergency doctors at Hamad Hospital.

Khalil Bin Ahmed Al Mohannadi, President of the Qatar and Arab Table Tennis Federations and Deputy ITTF President, had this to say:

This news comes as a terrible shock for all members of the Qatar and Arab Table Tennis Federations, as well as the sporting community in Qatar.

Abd Al-Rahman Al-Najjar is one of the most promising players in the Qatari national team and has a great future ahead of him for both club and country.

Our thoughts are with the player, we are ready to give him any support he needs, and we wish him a speedy recovery and return to the table tennis court.

Al-Najjar’s teammates have visited him in hospital already to show their support.

Everyone at the ITTF extends their wishes to Al-Najjar, his family and teammates for a quick recovery.
