Moreover, the players also responded, all delighted by part of a special occasion.

“It’s a great tournament. Obviously, the people of Nigeria are really excited to have a table tennis tournament. They’ve got some the best table tennis players in the world. It’s great being here. I’ve tried all the Nigerian spicy foods. Although I can’t remember the names now but I have tried them all.” Sam Walker

“The atmosphere is a sporty atmosphere. The crowd is wonderful. They cheer everything. The organization keeps improving; from the hall to the hotels, I think it’ll get better every year. I tried Nigerian foods especially meats and chicken. They’re all nice but too spicy.” Antonino Amato

“The crowd is majestic. Fans are amazing and plenty in the hall.” Supanut Wisutmaythangkoon

“Nigeria fans are very supportive, whether you are a foreigner or not. They still show some love. I’m always happy to play in Nigeria.” Mohamed El-Beiali

“This is my first time in Nigeria and I can see there are a lot of table tennis fans here. A lot of Quadri Aruna fans, who is also a very good player. Nigeria sure knows how to a organise a world class competition and I’m very lucky to participate in it. I have been eating Nigerian foods. They are lovely; especially the Nigerian rice.” Ruqayyah Kinno.

“I’ve never seen so many people cheering loudly in such a small hall. I played this morning but the noise did not disturb me. It is my first time in Nigeria but I am sure I’ll come back again.” Deborah Vivarelli
