Runner up at the recent Stag 2018 European Youth Championships, Truls Moregard has been named the top seeded player for the Junior Boys’ Singles competition at the Europe Youth Top 10. The Swede was crowned Cadet Boys’ Singles winner at the competition in 2016 – will he add to that success in Vila Real?

The second and third seeded positions have been awarded to Romania’s Rares Sipos and Greek star Ioannis Sgouropolous while Cristian Pletea, seeded fourth, will also take to the stage in a bid to defend his title. French competitors Bastien Rembert, Irvin Bertrand and Leo De Nodrest occupy positions five through to seven on the list with Italy’s Matteo Mutti and Russia’s Lev Katsman placed eighth and ninth respectively.

Ning Jing will be the player to beat in the Junior Girls’ Singles tournament with the talented Azerbaijan representative claiming first position in the seeding list – the European Youth Champion is joined in the top three by Serbia’s Sabina Surjan and Anna Wegrzyn of Poland.

Germany’s Franziska Schreiner has been awarded the no.4 spot ahead of Russian player Anastasia Kolish. Andreea Dragoman and Tania Plaian are next up on the list, taking positions six and seven with French and Czech players, Lucie Gauthier and Zdena Blaskova following the Romanian duo.

Topping the Cadet Boys’ Singles list is Poland’s Maciej Kubik, who heads to Vila Real fresh from his superb outing at the European Youth Championships. Myshaal Sabhi and Mike Hollo are seeded second and third for the event with Adrien Rassenfosse, Simon Belik, Andrea Puppo, Arnau Pons, Fabio Rakotoarimanana and Vladislav Makarov claiming the remaining places.

The Cadet Girls’ Singles draw sees Romania’s Elena Zaharia lead Russian and Swedish rivals Elizabet Abraamian and Rebecca Muskantor at the summit of the table with Lithuania’s Kornelija Riliskyte claiming fourth. Positions five and six go to Radmila Tominjak and Prithika Pavade followed by Hana Arapovic, Sophia Klee and Arina Slautina.

All no.10 seeded positions for the four categories are reserved for players representing the host nation, Portugal.
