Australia’s Benjamin Gould and New Zealand’s Hui-Ling Vong have taken the Under 18 Singles titles at the ITTF-Oceania Junior Championships in Rarotonga, Cook Islands.

The Junior Boys’ Single’s final saw an all Aussie affair as Gould faced teammate Mateo Dvorani. Gould defended his top billing, as the number one seed won 4-1 (9,-6,7,13,5).

The Junior Girls’ Singles final saw a New Zealand versus Australia grudge match. Hui-Ling Vong survived a seven games duel against surprise finalist Parleen Kaur. The Kiwi took the title with a 4-3 (7,-6,4,-7,8,-13,7) win.

Along with the title, both Gould and Vong will receive a AUD1500 scholarship to assist in their table tennis development.
