The four semi finalists have been found in the Cadet Boys’ Singles and for those with a penchant for symmetry the scoreline will give you some satisfaction. Each winner took the match 4-1.

The top two seeds Niu Guankai and Feng Yi-Hsin are safely through to the semi final after taking down Diogo Silva and Tran Michael respectively.

Maksim Grebnev was the highest seed to fall. The no.4 seed lost in five to Team Asia’s Park Gyeongtae. The fiery Grebnev had chances to push the scoreline closer, but Park played some clutch counters that left the young Russian shaking his head.

Park’s play is perhaps a renaissance for Korea Republic. His game has been centred around finding un-returnable forehands rather than relying on high frequency tempo in rallies to wrong foot his opponent; the current method of the Korean team.

Meanwhile, Csaba Andras is the lone European left in a Team Asia dominated draw. The crafty Hungarian made his way past Africa’s Mohamed Azzam and will now face top seed Niu Guankai for a place in the final.
