The fan favourite Mixed Doubles Event has found its medallists. This year there will be few surprises up on the podium.

There were opportunities for some upsets, but status prevailed. Even Team Oceania’s two year run in medals has come to an end. Their two pairs both were eliminated, meaning the continent will be going home empty handed.

Niu Guankai and Jamila Laurenti still looks favourites for gold after cruising past Alexander Bu and Fabiola Diaz in to the penultimate round.

Although in the top half the draw Olav Kosolosky and Benita Zhou are the only other pair to have maintained a clean sheet.
