There was a closely fought contest in the Cadet Boys’ Team category as England narrowly pipped Sweden to the title.

Both countries finished the event with the same number of points, but it was the English squad of Josh Weatherby, Joe Cope, Ethan Walsh and Jamie Liu which emerged victorious due to a superior games ratio advantage over Sweden.

Denmark edged out Norway in the hunt for third position in the table on games ratio, while the Netherlands and Germany finished in fifth and sixth respectively.

The host nation enjoyed a stronger campaign in the Cadet Girls’ Team tournament with eight points proving enough to seal the top step on the podium for the Netherlands.

However, the hosts weren’t able to come through the competition with a perfect record as the Dutch side of Karlijn van Lierop, Emine Ernst, Dobrila Jorguseska and Emma van der Zanden suffered a 4-6 defeat to England.

Despite their impressive result against the home side, England finished outside the top two positions in third place behind Germany but the team from the British Isles did outperform Scandinavian opponents Sweden, Norway and Denmark in the category.

The Cadet Boys’ Singles and Cadet Girls’ Singles prizes went to Norway and Germany, following successful campaigns from Borgar Haug and Annett Kaufmann in the respective events.
