Ready to leave for Düsseldorf for the Liebherr 2017 World Championships which commence on Monday 29th May, members of the Singapore Team took a break from preparations to spend time with the local community.

In support of Kindness Day Singapore, the official day this year being Friday 19th May, the players bound for the German city visited the National University of Hospital (NUH).

A morning full of fun for all concerned was enjoyed; smiles abounded.

Doctors, nurses and all members of staff at the NUH Medical Centre, Children Cancer Centre, who have shown great kindness and dedication, responded to the occasion.

It was an opportunity for the players to show their appreciation for the efforts made and the care displayed; it was a time to pay tribute and for the players to stop and think for a while. They are the lucky ones, they can travel the world playing sport; maybe players and officials alike we take that too much for granted.

Present were for the occasion were Gao Ning, Clarence Chew, Pang Xue Jie and Ethan Poh, alongside Yu Mengyu, Tan En Hui and Zhang Wanling.

Kindness Day Singapore, is traditionally celebrated on the second last Friday of the May; the day was first held in 2013, the aim being for Singaporeans to come together in a spirit of good will and helping fellow man.
