It is a very appropriate destination; Bendigo is no stranger to host table tennis competitions.

In 2013, the city was the home for the ITTF-Oceania Cup; ever since that date, a major international event has ben staged.

One year later in 2014 the K-Sports ITTF-Oceania Cup and Championships was hosted; before in 2015 a quite unique tournament was stated. The K-Sports Oceania Cup was organised alongside the Oceania Para Championships.

Meanwhile, in 2016, Bendigo was the home for the Oceania Championships.

The Buenos Aires 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games will be the third edition of the multi-sport gathering and the first time held outside Asia; in 2010 Singapore was the host, in 2014 the destination was the Chinese city of Nanjing.

Proceedings are scheduled to commence on Monday 1st October and conclude on Friday 12th October 2018.
