The opening three days at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games have delivered plenty of drama and we have another eye-catching day ahead as the Men's and Women's Singles events reach the quarter-final hurdle on Tuesday 27th July.

Petrissa Solja, Elizabeta Samara and Liam Pitchford were three high-profile casualties on day three at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium and there’s every chance more will be added to the list on day four.

Korean teenager Shin Yubin looks to extend her dream run even further as she eyes up a stunning upset against the number eight seed from Hong Kong, China Doo Hoi Kem, at 11.00 local time.

Following on directly from that encounter, we’ll see defending Men’s Singles champion Ma Long in action for the first time as he welcomes opposition from India’s Sharath Kamal Achanta at 12.00.

The host nation’s Koki Niwa is scheduled to play from 15.30 and will need to be attentive from the off with crafty defender Wang Yang of Slovakia standing in his way.

With the remaining round three fixtures contested, the attention will shift to the round of 16 in both singles events, scheduled to take place from 16.30.
