First-time encounters are very much the order of the day in the Women’s Singles event. Slovakia’s Barbora Balazova enters uncharted waters in her 10.00 local time clash with United States’ Liu Juan.

Top seed Chen Meng will also make her first appearance out on the court with Switzerland’s Rachel Moret, proving the opposition for the Chinese star at 14.30.

In the Men’s Singles, two of Asia’s finest collide at 15.30 as Hong Kong China’s Wong Chun Ting and Chinese Taipei’s Chuang Chih-Yuan do battle.

All eyes will be on Japanese teenage sensation Tomokazu Harimoto when he takes on Hong Kong, China’s Lam Siu Hang at 16.30.

However, the day’s main attraction comes in the Mixed Doubles competition with two medal matches on the agenda.

First, the bronze medal will be decided between Chinese Taipei’s Lin Yun-Ju, and Cheng I-Ching and France’s Emmanuel Lebesson and Yuan Jia Nan at 20.00 local time. The gold medal showdown sees China’s Xu Xin and Liu Shiwen lock horns with Japan’s Jun Mizutani and Mima Ito at 21.00.
